Slow Milesa walking notebook

About

Somewhere between two villages, late afternoon.

I started keeping this notebook after a winter when I walked to work every day instead of taking the bus. Forty minutes each way turned out to be the best part of the day, and I wanted somewhere to put the things I noticed.

Since then it has grown into a loose record of longer walks: towpaths, old drove roads, coastal paths, a few city crossings done in a single day. Nothing here is a guide. Routes change, footbridges wash out, cafés close. Treat the notes as one person's impressions on one particular day.

The photographs are taken with whatever was in my pocket. Most are unedited apart from cropping. If you recognise a place and know something about it that I got wrong, I would be glad to hear it.
